Role Description

The Grounds/Landscape Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in Pottstown, PA, responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of the school’s outdoor spaces. Daily tasks include mowing, trimming, edging, planting, mulching, weeding, and general gardening to keep lawns, gardens, and walkways clean and well-presented. The role involves caring for trees and shrubs, assisting with landscape installations and minor design adjustments, and monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure proper watering. The technician will operate and maintain grounds equipment, perform seasonal tasks such as snow and leaf removal, and support special campus events with outdoor setup and cleanup. The role requires consistent collaboration with the facilities team and adherence to safety procedures and school policies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in Landscape Maintenance and Landscaping, including routine care of lawns, gardens, and outdoor common areas.
• Experience with Gardening tasks such as planting, pruning, mulching, and weed control.
• Knowledge of Irrigation systems, including basic troubleshooting and efficient watering practices.
• Familiarity with Landscape Design principles to support small enhancements and campus beautification projects.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain grounds equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, snow removal tools).
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in varying weather conditions.
• Physical ability to perform manual outdoor work, including lifting, bending, and extended periods of walking or standing.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or related fields is preferred.
