Job summary

ServiceSource Inc. in Fort Bragg, NC is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to perform general grounds duties, operate equipment, and follow all safety rules. The role supports the organization’s mission while ensuring safe, efficient grounds care on site.

You will work under the supervision of a crew leader and supervisor, perform maintenance and inspections on assigned equipment, and contribute to a safe work environment for staff and visitors at the Fort Bragg facility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.
  • Commercial grounds maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must be able to gain access to Ft. Bragg Army base.

Responsibilities

  • Operate weed eaters, edger, blowers, push mowers, or riding mowers as assigned.
  • Perform general grounds maintenance tasks including mulching, pruning, hand weeding, planting, cleaning.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections for equipment.
  • Notify crew leader or supervisor of any safety issues immediately.
  • Follow safety rules and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.

Job Summary

Perform general grounds maintenance duties as assigned by the crew leader and supervisor. Follow all safety rules and procedures. Operate assigned equipment safely and in the manner that it was intended, avoiding damage to the surroundings, people, other property, and the equipment itself. Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections for assigned equipment.

Primary Duties
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.
  • Operate weed eaters, edger, blowers, push mowers, or riding mowers as assigned.
  • Perform general grounds maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, mulching, pruning, hand weeding, planting, cleaning, and installing headstones.
  • Perform all work as instructed by the crew leader and supervisor.
  • Perform quality, safe, and efficient work.
  • Ensure equipment is used only for work it was intended for to avoid damage to the equipment, the grounds, and other property.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Notify crew leader and/or supervisor of any safety issues immediately.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Work according to all safety rules as related to the equipment being used.
  • Ensure all safety rules and procedures are followed, (e.g. proper PPE worn, proper work methods used, and equipment safety devices are in place and operating).
  • Follow established break times, as well as beginning and end of scheduled work times.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.
  • Commercial grounds maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must be able to gain access to Ft. Bragg Army base.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to read a limited number of two and three-syllable words, as well as recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables.
