Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a dedicated maintenance worker at Rock Eagle 4-H Center to maintain grounds and facilities.

You will operate equipment, perform landscaping tasks and assist with general building upkeep to support center operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate lawnmowers, edgers and weed whackers to maintain grounds.
• Use backpack blowers to clear roads, sidewalks, roofs and gutters.
• Collect trash around the center; remove downed trees and limbs.
• Prune and trim bushes, shrubs and trees; spray herbicides to control weeds.
• Assist with general maintenance in plumbing, AV, electrical, painting and HVAC.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Operating lawnmowers, edgers, and weed whackers (35%)
• Operating backpack blowers to blow roads, sidewalks, roofs and gutters (25%)
• Trash pickup around center; removal of downed trees and limbs (15%)
• Pruning and trimming of bushes, shrubs and trees; spraying herbicides to control weeds (15%)
• Assisting with general maintenance in areas such as plumbing, AV, electrical, painting and HVAC (10%)
