Job summary

Parish Lowrie is seeking a Grounds Keeper to maintain the winery and vineyard grounds, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and an attractive presentation for guests and staff.

You will care for gardens, walkways, outdoor seating areas, irrigation, lighting, and basic equipment, perform seasonal maintenance, and report issues promptly.

This outdoor role requires physical endurance, the ability to work independently, and a strong eye for detail to keep the property in excellent condition.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, gardening, or property maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of basic landscaping and garden maintenance practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and repetitive outdoor work.
• Reliable, self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and attractive property.
• Ability to recognize maintenance issues and communicate them to management.
• Ability to safely use common landscaping tools and equipment.
• Must be dependable and willing to assist wherever needed to maintain the appearance and functionality of the property.

Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, flower beds, landscaped areas, and decorative plantings throughout the winery property.
• Perform routine landscaping and grounds maintenance, including weeding, trimming, pruning, mulching, planting, watering, and basic upkeep.
• Walk the property to collect trash, debris, fallen branches, and other unwanted materials.
• Keep sidewalks, pathways, patios, outdoor seating areas, and guest-facing spaces clean and presentable.
• Maintain landscape lighting, check fixtures, replace bulbs, and report electrical issues.
• Identify and address areas needing cleaning, maintenance, repair, or attention.
• Assist with keeping buildings, gardens, parking areas, and outdoor event spaces clean and welcoming.
• Perform seasonal grounds maintenance and prepare gardens for weather changes.
• Assist with irrigation, hoses, sprinklers, and basic landscaping equipment; report problems.
• Safely operate and maintain basic landscaping tools and equipment.
• Keep tools, equipment, storage areas, and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE for maintenance tasks.
• Complete other grounds and property maintenance duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Grounds Keeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of the winery and vineyard grounds. This position plays an important role in keeping gardens, landscaped areas, walkways, outdoor guest areas, and surrounding property clean, attractive, safe, and well-maintained for guests and employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, flower beds, landscaped areas, and decorative plantings throughout the winery property.

• Perform routine landscaping and grounds maintenance, including weeding, trimming, pruning, mulching, planting, watering, and general upkeep.

• Regularly walk the property to collect trash, debris, fallen branches, and other unwanted materials from the grounds.

• Keep sidewalks, pathways, patios, outdoor seating areas, and other guest-facing areas clean and presentable.

• Maintain and monitor landscape lighting throughout the property, including checking fixtures, replacing bulbs or components when appropriate, and reporting electrical or equipment issues.

• Identify and address areas of the property that require cleaning, maintenance, repair, or additional attention.

• Assist with maintaining a clean and welcoming appearance around buildings, gardens, parking areas, and outdoor event spaces.

• Perform seasonal grounds maintenance, including preparing gardens and landscaping for changing weather conditions.

• Assist with maintaining irrigation, hoses, sprinklers, and other basic landscaping equipment and report problems as needed.

• Safely operate and maintain basic landscaping tools and equipment.

• Keep tools, equipment, storage areas, and work areas clean and organized.

• Follow all company safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment when performing maintenance tasks.

• Complete other grounds and property maintenance duties as assigned.
