copperascove is seeking a grounds maintenance worker to maintain the city's golf course. Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, landscaping, and assisting with tournament setups under supervision.
The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of landscaping experience. A valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License is mandatory. The job involves working outdoors under various weather conditions and requires physical stamina.
Maintains the golf course by mowing, trimming, and edging turf areas; prepares the course for use; assists in maintaining irrigation systems; provides landscaping as assigned; picks up trash; cleans restrooms; and adheres to the scheduled maintenance.
Under the general supervision of the Golf Superintendent, assists in training all employees or volunteers.
Formal application, rating of education and experience; oral interview; reference check; job‑related tests may be required; pre‑employment drug tests.
Pickup truck; lawn/turf and landscaping equipment, including tractors, mowers, acidifiers/aeration equipment, chainsaw, edgers, backflips, weed trimmers, trailers, backhoe, electric motors, pumps, sprinklers, irrigation systems; miscellaneous hand and power tools for lawn maintenance.
The job requires lifting, carrying, and positioning objects up to 100 lbs; frequent bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, and sitting. The employee is required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Regular work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Frequent work in high, precarious places; exposure to wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxins, or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level is usually loud. The environment is noisy and distracting with multiple areas that need attention to detail.
