Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking an Irrigation Specialist responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing the district’s irrigation systems to ensure efficient water use and healthy landscapes. Work is performed independently and as part of a grounds maintenance team.

You will program schedules, monitor water usage, and ensure compliance with local regulations. This role requires outdoor work and coordination with grounds staff on seasonal needs.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• HSE diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of professional water/irrigation experience.
• Must obtain Backflow Prevention license within first year.
• Must obtain CIT within 90 days of employment.
• Colorado driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems across district sites.
• Maintain records of inspections and water usage.
• Program irrigation schedules to meet seasonal needs and conserve water.
• Coordinate with grounds staff on mowing, fertilization, and aeration.
• Conduct seasonal start-ups, shutdowns, and winterizations.
