Qualifications

  • Experience with computers, such as email and work order systems.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Five years of landscape and sprinkler experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and closeout books.
  • Must be able to work outside in Arizona weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs planting, trimming, watering, fertilizing and care of the lawn at all district sites.
  • Maintains irrigation systems, drip systems, and time clocks; repair timers and valves.
  • Operates lawnmowers, weed eaters, trimmers, blowers, tractors and trailers.
  • Understands and explains irrigation system design and operation.
  • Maintains sports fields lining for football, baseball, and soccer.
  • Ensures all district sites have well-maintained grounds.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 260 Days; 12 Months COMPENSATION:Per QCUSD salary schedule for applicable position BENEFITS: As per QCUSD District policy REPORTS TO: Director of Building Operations HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 5:00 am - 1:30 pm CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Performs the planting, trimming, watering, fertilizing and care of the lawn to all district sites.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance on the drip system, sprinkler system, and irrigation time clocks.
  • Needs to be able to repair timers, control valves, sprinkler heads, pumps, etc.
  • Be able to operate lawn mowers, weed eaters, trimmer, blowers, tractors with their attachments, and pull trailers.
  • Needs to know the basics of designing an irrigation system and explain how it works.
  • Takes care of the lining sports field for football, baseball, and soccer.
  • Makes sure that all district sites have well maintained grounds.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
