Job summary

CBRE Government & Defense seeks a Grounds Foreman to supervise daily grounds maintenance at Ft Campbell, TN. You will lead crews, assign tasks, and ensure safe, compliant completion of landscaping duties for industrial and commercial facilities.

The role requires prior supervisory experience, knowledge of grounds maintenance, and the ability to direct daily activities while operating lawn equipment and hand tools. Physical endurance is essential in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge and experience in grounds maintenance and landscaping activities.
  • Prior lead, foreman, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to provide work direction and coordinate daily activities of assigned personnel.
  • Ability to understand and communicate verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to safely operate grounds maintenance equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Frequent heavy or intense physical activity.
  • Frequent exposure to environmental conditions including heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, and other outdoor elements.
  • Required to use appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE as applicable.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and push, pull, bend, kneel, and stretch as required.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide daily direction to assigned grounds maintenance personnel.
  • Assign, coordinate, and inspect work to ensure timely and satisfactory completion.
  • Cut grass using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2,000 lbs.).
  • Trim hedges and edge around walks, flower beds, and other landscaped areas using hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools.
  • Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth using shears and other hand tools.
  • Apply fertilizer or insecticide to lawns, shrubs, and trees as directed.
  • Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
  • Water lawns and shrubs using hoses or sprinkler systems.
  • Pick up and dispose of leaves, paper, litter, and other debris.
  • Coordinate and perform snow and ice removal from walks, driveways, roads, and parking areas using appropriate equipment.
  • Spread salt or other approved materials on walkways and designated areas.
  • Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings.
  • Assist with repairs to roads, walks, buildings, and equipment as required.
  • Ensure groundskeeping tools and equipment are properly operated, maintained, and stored.
  • Monitor work areas and completed work for quality, safety, and contract compliance.
  • Ensure personnel follow applicable safety, environmental, and security requirements.
  • Assist with training and providing guidance to grounds personnel.
  • Perform grounds maintenance duties alongside the crew as operational needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

General Summary

The Grounds Foreman supervises and coordinates grounds maintenance activities to maintain the grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property.
