Job Responsibilities

• Perform operation and maintenance of equipment, vehicles and related grounds equipment at mccrady training center, mcEntire and other scarn training sites as needed.
• Operate and maintain necessary machinery to include agricultural tractors, loaders, man-lifts, lawn mowers, bulldozers and chain saws.
• Change oils, fluids, belts, and lubricate equipment prior to use.
• Operate tools and welding equipment to build, fabricate and repair parts for equipment, including ac/cd portable welder, torch, plasma cutter and milling machine.
• Perform landscaping and grounds maintenance.
• Remove dead trees caused by lightning strikes and bug infestation, grind stumps and remove debris.
• Transport and haul equipment to perform daily job functions.
• Preferred experience in horticulture with certification and or grounds maintenance.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• A high school diploma and custodial or grounds keeping experience directly related to the area of employment.

Additional Comments

• Must possess a valid south carolina driver’s license.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.
• Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50/75 lbs.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces; hot, hazardous, and noisy locations; and in adverse weather conditions.
• Position requires participation in the on-call program and to work after hours, as on call technician.
