Job summary

Oak View Group (OVG) is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented part-time Grounds Crew to support year‑round operations at LeLacheur Park and the Tsongas Center. This role pays an hourly rate of $18.75 and requires readiness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities include field maintenance, setup/breakdown, and keeping areas clean and safe for events, with snow/ice duties in winter. Qualifications

• 1–2 years of groundskeeping or turf-related experience preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; turf management certifications/training are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Represent OVG with professionalism at all times at both venues
• Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment, seating, staging, and event materials
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of facility areas
• Perform essential field maintenance at LeLacheur Park: grooming, edging, daily infield upkeep
• Paint and maintain field lines and other markings
• Maintain pitcher’s mound and bullpen mounds, clay work and moisture management
• Watering and raking turf/dirt surfaces to standards
• Ensure field integrity and safety before/after games
• Support Tsongas Center operations: ice and arena surface prep
• Install/remove protective flooring and barricades
• Assist with snow and ice removal during winter
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards
• Work collaboratively with venue staff, vendors, coaches, athletes, and partners

This team is essential to maintaining the professional standards of each venue, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and fully prepared for events. This role pays an hourly rate of $18.75.

About The Venue

Edward A. LeLacheur Park is a collegiate-style baseball stadium located on the University of Massachusetts Lowell campus in Lowell, Massachusetts, on the scenic banks of the Merrimack River. Opened in 1998 through a partnership between the City of Lowell and UMass Lowell, the ballpark seats roughly 4,700 fans with room for additional standing spectators, offering great sightlines and a compact, energetic atmosphere. Owned and operated by UMass Lowell, LeLacheur Park is the home field for the UMass Lowell River Hawks baseball team, competing in NCAA Division I's America East Conference. Following a period without professional summer baseball after the contraction of affiliated minor league teams in 2020, baseball returned to LeLacheur Park for the 2026 season with the Lowell Spinners, a new franchise in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL). The Spinners revive a beloved local tradition at the park, connecting to Lowell’s community spirit and rich sports heritage while providing summer opportunities for top collegiate players to develop in front of enthusiastic crowds. LeLacheur Park is known for its engaging fan experience, community-oriented promotions, and location within Lowell’s vibrant university district, making it both a competitive athletic venue and a local entertainment hub throughout the spring and summer baseball seasons.

Responsibilities

• Represent OVG with a high level of professionalism at all times in both venues
• Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment, seating, staging, and event materials
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all facility areas
• Perform essential baseball field maintenance at LeLacheur Park, including grooming, edging, and daily infield upkeep
• Painting and maintaining field lines, including batter’s boxes, foul lines, on-deck circles, and other field markings
• Proper maintenance of the pitcher’s mound and bullpen mounds, including clay work, tamping, moisture management, and shaping
• Watering, raking, and maintaining turf and dirt surfaces to professional standards
• Ensuring the field’s overall integrity and safety before and after games
• Support event and facility operations at the Tsongas Center, including ice and arena surface preparation
• Install and remove protective flooring, barricades, and equipment as needed
• Assist with snow and ice removal during winter months
• Follow all OVG safety procedures and report hazards or maintenance concerns
• Work collaboratively and professionally with venue staff, vendors, coaches, athletes, and event partners

Qualifications

Experience:

• 1-2 years of previous experience in groundskeeping, turf management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training in turf management is a plus.

Skills

• Basic knowledge of field maintenance techniques and equipment.
• Ability to operate and maintain machinery and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Working Conditions

• Schedule: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during the sports season.
• Environment: Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
