Job summary

Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, seeks a Grounds Crew member to maintain the golf course and landscape across fairways, greens, and surrounding areas.

You will work with supervisors on maintenance tasks, ensuring the course looks pristine and operates smoothly across all seasons. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work weekends and holidays in a prestigious, resort setting.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with lawn care tasks (mowing, landscaping, weed-eating, raking, debris clearing) preferred.
• Flexible availability; weekends and holidays required.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks efficiently.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work independently with minimal supervision; able to work in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate mowing equipment to maintain fairways, greens, roughs, and tees.
• Trim and edge around trees, shrubs, pathways, and features.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and treatments as needed.
• Rake and level sand traps and keep them debris-free.
• Ensure course areas are golfer-ready; replenish ball washers and check signage.
• Remove leaves and branches to maintain a tidy course.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

• Operate various types of mowing equipment to maintain fairways, greens, roughs, and tees at the desired height and appearance
• Trim and edge around trees, shrubs, pathways, sand traps, and other features to maintain a clean and polished look
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments as needed to maintain plant health and appearance
• Rake and level sand traps, ensuring they are free of debris and properly shaped
• Ensure all areas of the course are ready for golfers, including restocking ball washers and ensuring signage is accurate
• Remove leaves, branches, and other debris from the course to maintain a tidy appearance
• Ability to work outside in both extreme hot and cold weather conditions
• Perform other duties as assigned

What do you bring to the role?

• Familiarity with lawn care tasks (lawn mowing, landscaping, grounds keeping, grounds maintenance, weed-eating, trimming, raking, debris blowing, hand weeding, garbage/litter pick up, planting, watering, fertilizing, etc.) preferred
• Flexible availability, must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Ability to multitask and efficiently complete tasks
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and kneel continuously and lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
• Comfort with mechanical equipment
