Washington County seeks a Lead Grounds and Facilities Technician to oversee maintenance work and provide training to other technicians. Washington County Public Works Department is currently hiring for a Lead Grounds and Facilities Technician. The Lead Grounds and Facilities Technician provides work direction and training to other Grounds and Facilities Technicians, performs both interior and exterior general maintenance work, and/or a variety of other routine building maintenance work.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
SELECTION TECHNIQUE: Your training and experience will be rated based on the required application material submitted, and the top-scoring candidates will be forwarded to the hiring department for further consideration.
HOURS / DAYS: Summer: Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Winter: Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
ANTICIPATED PAY RATE: $23.34 - $27.57 Hourly
E-Verify Participation: Washington County participates in the federal E-Verify program. This means that Washington County will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. The Lead Grounds and Facilities Technician provides work direction and training to other Grounds and Facilities Technicians, performs both interior and exterior general maintenance work, and/or a variety of other routine building maintenance work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of Grounds Facilities Technician Lead work experience and/or general facilities maintenance work, or equivalent. Requires a Landscape Specialist Certificate or the ability to obtain the Certificate within 12 months of hiring.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicator License and Fertilizer license. Individuals operating a motor vehicle for County business must possess a valid driver’s license.
CORE COMPETENCIES, JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Provide work directions, orientation, and training to other Grounds and Facilities Technicians, monitor supply levels, maintain grounds and facilities, operate equipment, perform landscaping and maintenance tasks, and assist with projects and repairs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position requires working indoors and outdoors, exposure to weather, physical demands including lifting up to 100 lbs with assistance, and potential hazards from equipment and chemicals. Physical and mental requirements are inherent in performing the position's duties. Travel between County locations is required.
