Job Title

Maintenance Technician

Job Description Summary

Responsible for assisting with operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems, including packaging and handling machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, grounds equipment, and HVAC systems.
  2. Clean, lubricate, and service various pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices.
  3. Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
  4. Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and perform painting on walls, piping, floors, and equipment.
  5. Evaluate and recommend upgrades to maintenance operations and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  6. Use and care for tools and equipment related to facility and ground maintenance.
  7. Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer service requests.
  8. Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for safety and operational issues, perform preventative maintenance.
  9. Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms and pumps.
  10. Perform carpentry and snow removal as needed.
  11. Follow all applicable codes, regulations, and safety practices.
  12. Utilize technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and building automation systems.
  13. Complete all required safety training annually.
  14. Adhere to company uniform and appearance standards.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in a commercial property setting.

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Basic skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Additional Notes

May be the only maintenance staff on duty during certain shifts and may need to work extended hours or shifts, including emergency response and standby duties.

Work Environment

Primarily in a professional office environment with standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

Must be able to communicate effectively, operate office and maintenance equipment, move around the workplace, and perform physical tasks as required.

Benefits
