Job summary

Wright Tree Service is hiring a Groundperson to support vegetation maintenance along power lines. The role involves identifying safety hazards and using tools to clear brush and debris while maintaining a neat, safe work area.

The position requires learning and applying OSHA guidelines, wearing PPE, and assisting with traffic control and site setup. A high school diploma or equivalent and CPR/First-Aid are preferred, with valid licensing and herbicide certification advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow safety practices and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to read and understand job instructions and safety information.
• Must wear required PPE and maintain situational awareness.

Responsibilities

• Loads vehicles and equipment with limbs and logs that are manageable.
• Works on the ground using saws to cut brush and large limbs.
• Collects debris and transports to designated area for processing.
• Applies herbicide and growth regulators to brush and stumps.
• Operates hazardous equipment such as chainsaws and stump grinders safely.
• Adheres to safety policies and educates others on procedures.
• Uses tools like rake, shovel, and leaf blower to clear work areas.
• Feeds debris into woodchipper and maintains a clean site.
• Sets up warning signs and traffic controls to protect workers and the public.
• Coordinates with property owners and emergency personnel as needed.
• Prepares and cleans tools and equipment at the job site.
• Performs routine vehicle and equipment maintenance.
