Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Groundperson in Pelham, AL to support field operations involved in installing underground electric utility facilities. You will assist with jobsite setup, material handling, and coordinating with drill operators, equipment operators, and apprentices to ensure safe, efficient work.

Willingness to work out of town is required. Responsibilities include preparing work areas, aiding in excavation, communicating with property owners, and performing related duties

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Class A CDL.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work from the ground.
• Clears work area around structures.
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.
• Will perform other duties as assigned by Foreperson relating to utility line work.
• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
• Will flag traffic.
• Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, etc.).
• Working hours may extend into night and exceed an eight hour day.
