Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC (Pike Corporation) is seeking a Groundman to support construction and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems. You will assist the crew, operate with safety as a priority, and report to the Foreman.

The role requires physical labor, willingness to travel, and working outdoors in challenging conditions, including outages and on-call shifts. Pike emphasizes safety, teamwork, and growth within a long-standing utility services company.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and able to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems while putting safety first.
• Help install and repair underground facilities, underground conductors, and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment including backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotation.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and insulated protective equipment understanding.
• Inspect rubber goods and PPE.
• Understand when to wear PPE.
• Perform rigorous physical labor.
