Job summary

Jonesbroscont seeks an Aggregate Groundman to support daily operations around crushers, screens, and conveyors. You will help ensure safe and efficient plant performance, monitor equipment, and assist in maintenance tasks.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to follow directions in a dynamic outdoor environment. Prior mining experience and MSHA Part 46/48 training are preferred or available on hire.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assists in setup, operation, and maintenance of aggregate crushers and screening plants.
  • Performs routine inspections of crushers, conveyors, and screens and reports maintenance needs.
  • Monitors material flow and ensures proper feed and discharge of products.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and maintains equipment according to safety schedules.
  • Assists in site preparation by removing debris and ensuring a safe work area.
  • Transports materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
  • Operates forklifts, skid steers, or small hand tools when required.
  • Assists in digging, grading, and manual labor tasks as needed.
  • Follows MSHA and company safety policies, including PPE use and lockout/tagout.

Aggregate Groundman
Job Summary:

The Aggregate Groundman is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of aggregate production, including working around crushers, screens, conveyors, and other heavy equipment. This position supports the safe and efficient operation of crushing and screening plants, ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations and company safety standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the setup, operation, and maintenance of aggregate crushers and screening plants.
  • Performs routine inspections of crushers, conveyors, and screens to identify and report maintenance needs.
  • Monitors material flow and ensures proper feed and discharge of aggregate products.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and maintains equipment according to safety and maintenance schedules.
  • Assists in the preparation of project sites by removing debris and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
  • Transports materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site as needed.
  • Operates construction machinery such as forklifts, skid steers, or small hand tools as necessary.
  • Assists in digging, grading, and other manual labor tasks related to plant operations.
  • Adheres to MSHA and company safety policies, including the proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Participates in safety meetings, inspections, and site audits as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn aggregate plant operations.
  • Flexibility to perform various tasks as assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in the aggregate or mining industry preferred.
  • MSHA Part 46 or Part 48 training certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to work in varying outdoor weather conditions and noisy environments.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate tools and equipment.
