Penn Line Tree Service is seeking a capable Groundhand to assist crews in clearing trees and branches along power and communication lines. This role involves hoisting tools, positioning ladders, cutting brush, loading debris, and traveling to project sites across several states.
A valid driver’s license is preferred; the work requires physical endurance, willingness to work overtime, and compliance with our drug-free workplace policy.
A Groundhand's primary responsibility is to assist crews in clearing trees and branches that interfere with communication lines and electric power lines. Other duties include hoisting tools and equipment to crew members and lowering branches with rope or block and tackle; positioning and steadying ladders; sawing and cutting up branches; loading debris, tree trunks and limbs onto trucks (using winch and chipping brush with chipper); carrying chainsaws; carrying gas cans and oil jugs; cutting, dragging, and mulching brush. May also flag traffic utilizing stop/slow paddle and two-way radio. A Valid Driver's License and/or CDL License is preferred.
4 -10 HR days, either; Monday thru Thursday or Tuesday thru Friday with periods of mandatory overtime. Employees are also required to work emergency storm duty as need arises.

Travel required throughout various states including PA, MD, OH, VA, & WV Candidates must be flexible to travel when called upon since work locations are subject to change upon short notice based on contract demands.
