Pennline is seeking a Tree Trimmer in Cumberland, Maryland. This role involves performing tree trimming, clearing, and removal along electric power lines. Candidates should have 6 months of relevant experience, as well as a valid driver’s license. Knowledge of chainsaw safety and climbing techniques is essential.
The job requires a flexible schedule with 4–10 hour work days and travel across various states. This position is at a drug-free workplace with over 1,300 employees year-round.
A Tree Trimmer’s primary responsibility is to perform tree trimming, clearing, and removal of trees along electric power lines and right-of-way areas. The role involves climbing trees to reach branches that interfere with power lines while using climbing equipment. Operators must have knowledge of chainsaw safety, and roping & rigging techniques. The position also requires the use of tools such as chainsaws, pruners, brush chippers, and may include operating an aerial lift device such as a bucket truck.
• Minimum: 6 months of verifiable experience in a utility line clearance or residential tree clearance setting.
• Valid Driver’s License and/or CDL License preferred.
• Pesticide license beneficial but not mandatory.
4–10 hour days, Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday with periods of mandatory overtime. Employees must also be available for emergency storm duty as needed.
Rate of pay varies depending on skills and experience.
Travel required throughout various states. Candidates must be flexible to travel when called upon, as work locations may change on short notice based on contract demands.
