Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Ground System Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software systems for the X-BAT Platform. This role focuses on building robust ground control stations, mission planning tools, communication interfaces, and infrastructure that enable the X-BAT mission, and supports operational requirements safe and efficient drone operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Masters or PhD preferred for advanced roles.
• Strong fundamentals in software engineering and system design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize ground control software for low-latency UAV communication.
• Build full-stack applications for telemetry processing, fusion, and mission planning.
• Create responsive UIs with React and TypeScript for telemetry readout and operator workflows.
• Collaborate with autonomy, embedded, HMI/UX teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Lead features from design through deployment and iteration; peer reviews expected.
