Shield AI seeks a Senior Propulsion Design Engineer to lead propulsion hardware for the X-BAT platform, covering engine, fuel, oil, and bleed air systems. You will develop CAD models in Siemens NX, apply GD&T, and work with machine shops to ensure manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in aerospace hardware design, preferably propulsion systems.
• Proficient in CAD modeling and drawings; NX preferred.
• Experience with production environments and machine shops.
• US Citizenship or ITAR compliance; S//SAR clearance desired.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and release of propulsion hardware for engine, fuel, oil, and bleed air systems.
• Develop and maintain CAD models, drawings, and assemblies using Siemens NX with GD&T.
• Translate propulsion architecture into manufacturable, testable hardware.
• Collaborate with machine shop, production, and technicians to support builds and resolve issues.
• Support test campaigns with hardware design input, instrumentation, and rapid iteration.
• Apply hand calculations and tools (ANSYS, FEA, GFSSP, REFPROP) for sizing and validation.
• Participate in configuration management, BOM control, and change processes.
