Job summary

Five Rivers Analytics (FRA), an Akima company, seeks a Ground Systems Controller to support mission operations at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. You will operate and monitor mission ground systems, perform routine checks, coordinate with engineers and government personnel, and maintain accurate mission reporting.

Responsibilities include handling system alerts, troubleshooting under senior guidance, maintaining logs, and following cybersecurity and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of experience in ground systems operations, satellite operations, C2, or related technical field.
• Experience operating or monitoring complex hardware and software systems.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and respond to system alerts.
• Ability to document operational activity clearly and communicate status to technical and mission personnel.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to support shift work, weekends, or nonstandard hours as required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Operates and monitors ground systems, hardware, software, and equipment.
• Performs scheduled checks and verifies readiness before mission activities.
• Monitors performance and documents potential issues.
• Responds to alerts using established procedures and escalation.
• Assists with troubleshooting and recovery under supervision.
• Maintains operational logs, status reports, and turnover docs.
• Coordinates with government personnel and engineers during missions.
• Supports testing, maintenance, configuration changes, and restorations.
• Follows cybersecurity, CM, safety, and operational requirements.
• Performs shift work as needed.
• Completes required training and position certification.
