Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) in Englewood, CO is seeking a Ground Systems Engineer to support the Ground Segment IPT and drive MBSE-based design, integration, and testing of ground systems for space missions.

You will develop system requirements, coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines, and ensure an integrated solution (internal, COTS, FOSS) aligns with mission CONOPS. Willingness to travel and ability to obtain DoD clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline and two or more years of engineering experience.
• Ability to quickly understand new concepts, apply them accurately, and organize work to meet schedules.
• Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Must be customer focused and able to work independently or in a team, and willing to travel as required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to Ground Segment IPT for assigned program and follows the solution through all phases.
• Develops ground system requirements to support space missions and operation needs.
• Ensures an integrated ground solution (internal, COTS, FOSS) for space mission CONOPS.
• Uses an MBSE approach for design, development, integration, and testing of the ground system.
• Supports development of ICDs, test plans/procedures, and ground and operation related program documentation.
• Collaborates with engineering staff on design, integration, and test matters; supports design of new space systems.
• Troubleshoots, analyzes, and supports resolution of system issues using standard engineering principles.
• Develop training material and provide documentation and technical presentations to support operational readiness.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and complies with laws, regulations, and company policies; safety practices.
