Job summary
KBR, Inc. in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Ground Systems Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain ground command and control software for national security programs.
The role requires active TS/SCI with poly, 9+ years of related experience (or 6+ with MS), and strong knowledge of DevSecOps, agile methods, and DoD/IC acquisition processes. You will work across SPO engineering teams to ensure system integrity and timely delivery.
Qualifications
- Active/Current TS/SCI with Poly.
- 9+ years of experience with a BS degree.
- Strong knowledge of DevSecOps and cloud deployments.
- Familiarity with agile software development processes and metrics.
- Experience with DoD/IC acquisition processes and program management milestones.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert analysis on ground systems software requirements, design, install, test, and operations support.
- Monitor system software adherence to requirements and coordinate with stakeholders on verification methods.
- Assess information assurance standards and product obsolescence implications.
- Develop briefing packages for SPO engineering, risk, and program-management reviews.
- Support ground system software/hardware specification development and test planning.
- Monitor cloud-based satellite command/control system deployment and transitions to operations.
