Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a senior Ground Systems Chief Engineer to lead the design, development, integration and testing of enterprise ground systems for government customers. The role requires extensive systems engineering experience, a current TS/SCI clearance, and proficiency with MBSE tools and ICD-based interface definitions.

The engineer will mentor teams, manage requirements allocation, support system gates like SRR/PDR/CDR, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in Engineering or related technical field is required plus 10 or more years related experience.
• Higher-level degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
• Knowledge of systems engineering roles and functions.
• Experience in developing SEMP, ICDs, architectures and CDRLs.
• Experience with a requirements management system (JAMA/DOORS).
• Practical knowledge of MBSE SysML/UML and Cameo MagicDraw.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, integration and testing of an enterprise ground system.
• Mentor and guide systems engineers on the program.
• Interface with customers and lead technical discussions and documentation.
• Lead requirement allocation, verification and validation processes.
• Develop and document ICDs and interface definitions.
• Support trades studies, performance analyses and risk assessments.
• Prepare presentations for peers and management.
