Job summary

CareFlite is seeking an experienced EMT-Paramedic to deliver safe, high-quality emergency care during patient transports within the Ground Division. The role requires adherence to CareFlite policies, strong communication with patients and medical staff, and active participation in quality improvement.

The ideal candidate will hold Texas EMT-Paramedic certification, ACLS/BLS, and related waivers, with prior EMS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current State of Texas EMT-Paramedic certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current PHTLS certificate or within 6 weeks of hire.
• Current PALS certificate or within 6 weeks of hire.
• Dallas City Ambulance Attendant Driver permit.
• Texas Class C driver’s license.
• Ability to effectively communicate Verbal/Written English.
• 1 year EMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate emergency vehicle safely in accordance with laws and CareFlite policies.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of all medical and non-medical equipment in the ambulance.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on the vehicle at shift start and report needs.
• Assist flight crew with patient loading/unloading for helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft.
• Communicate clearly with patients, family, and medical staff throughout transport.
• Document patient condition and services rendered accurately.
