5 Star Electric, LLC (5 Star) is a premier full-service provider of electrical construction, maintenance, and repair services with offices in Western Kentucky and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. The Operator role supports line crews, handles tools, digs holes, and assists with the installation and maintenance of power lines.

The position emphasizes safety, on-the-ground work, and the ability to travel as needed; CDL A license and OSHA training are required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
1 year of prior equipment operating experience in a related field.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State Driver License is required.
Must obtain a Class A CDL with Medical Examiner's Card.
Criminal and MVR background checks and pre-employment drug screen.
Complete OSHA 10hr Safety Training within 60 days.
Successful completion of knowledge and skills examinations.
Compliance with Safety Performance Standards.

Responsibilities

Passes tools to line crew or network crew members on the ground.
Assist in setting poles and digging holes; use heavy equipment as needed.
Clear right-of-way and perform site clean-up after work.
Position reels of cable and lay URD cables in trenches.
Assist top man with lowering and raising molten metals and other heavy materials.
Operate roto hammer to access vaults; notify customers of service disruption.
Flag traffic to protect workers and the public; may drive trucks to site.
