Job summary

Expeditors is seeking a Warehouse Operations Specialist to allocate workloads, ensure department deadlines are met, and actively participate in weekly team meetings to drive accountability and progress.

You will assist in staffing, develop and implement best practices for load utilization and cargo integrity, coordinate dock plans and sequencing, verify documentation such as load manifests and bills of lading, and monitor KPI performance.

Qualifications

• WMS expertise for facility & supporting tech operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication are essential.
• GDP (Goods Distribution Practice) trained.

Responsibilities

• Allocate workloads within the department.
• Ensure department deadlines are met in a timely manner.
• Contribute to effective weekly department meetings with team.
• Review department goals and business plan with team for buy-in and accountability.
• Assist Regional Manager in staffing requirements and scheduling for Ground Network Services operations.
• Assist in developing and implementing best practices for load utilization and cargo integrity.
• Assist warehouse manager in cargo sort operating plans, dock plans, sequencing, staging, segregation, and processing times as necessary.
• Ensure warehouse receives all required documentation including load manifests and bills of lading; assist in managing trailer inventories, yard services, security, and access for sortation operations.
• Monitor OS&D shipments.
• Support documentation needs, including processing consolidations in e.tms Export/Import and monitoring workflows.
• Work with team to meet KPI standards per company procedures.
• Identify potential capacity constraints in the scheduled network.
• Assist in enacting contingencies to expand capacity and arrange reroutes/additional trucks as needed.
• Ensure service provider equipment is in place at regional branches to facilitate operations.
