Job summary

Buckley Cable Construction is seeking dependable Ground Hands to support aerial telecommunications crews in the Jacksonville and Miami markets. This field-based role requires physical work, teamwork, safety awareness, and the ability to operate hand and power tools outdoors.

You will assist linemen, load materials, prepare equipment, and help set up active work zones while traveling as needed within North Florida and South Florida.

Qualifications

• Experience in outdoor labor or fieldwork preferred.
• Experience with aerial telecommunications or CATV is a plus.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding outdoor work.
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
• Willingness to travel to multiple markets.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist linemen and crew members with daily aerial telecommunications construction tasks.
• Support installation and maintenance of fiber optic and related equipment.
• Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for daily activities.
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain an organized and safe work area.
• Help set up and secure active construction zones.
• Handle and stage cable, strand, hardware, and materials.
• Operate hand and power tools as directed.
• Assist with pulling, placing, and securing telecommunications cable.
• Follow instructions from Foreman and Field Supervisor.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Follow safety policies and customer requirements.
• Work safely around vehicles, poles, and active construction areas.
• Perform other field construction duties as assigned.
