Job summary

Inspiration Brewing Co. is opening a ground-floor kitchen and seeks a Sous Chef to help build a new culinary program from the ground up. You'll work closely with the Executive Chef to shape the menu, establish kitchen systems, and hire and train the team that will bring it to life.

You’ll run all stations, handle prep, manage expo flow, and open/close the kitchen with rigorous checklists. A collaborative leader who communicates well and leads by example is essential to delivering high standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of full-service restaurant cooking experience.
• Experience working in a high-volume kitchen.
• Comfort across all stations of the line.
• A collaborative mindset — this role is as much about building a team and a program as it is about cooking.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead by example during busy service.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development and help shape the overall culinary program.
• Play an active role in hiring cooks, and help train and develop the kitchen team alongside the Executive Chef.
• Work all stations on the line — you'll need to be comfortable moving wherever the kitchen needs you.
• Handle prep work to keep the kitchen stocked and ready for service.
• Run expo, keeping tickets accurate and food moving smoothly to the floor.
• Open and close the kitchen, including all associated checklists and procedures.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen that runs at a high standard night after night.
• Step in as a leader on the line when the Executive Chef isn't present.
