Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat invites engineers to help develop propulsion plant concepts for Virginia Class Block VIII and SSN(X). You will lead concept studies, perform structural analysis, and coordinate with EB teams, Newport News, and Naval Nuclear Labs to deliver innovative designs for the submarine’s propulsion systems.

Applicants should hold a BS in Civil/Mechanical/Structural/Aerospace or Nuclear engineering with under 5 years post-graduate experience; MS degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Aerospace, or Nuclear engineering.
• Less than 5 years of post graduate engineering work experience.

Responsibilities

• Concept development for future propulsion plants including structural concepts and analysis (major module structures).
• Arrangement integration (locations on the boat) and interface with EB engineering disciplines, Newport News Shipbuilding, vendors, Naval Nuclear Labs, and NAVSEA.
