Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Basic EMT to provide care and transportation for emergency and non‑emergency patients in pre‑hospital environments. The role emphasizes safe ambulance operation, required certifications, and ongoing education to maintain current EMS scope of practice.

The position requires responding to calls, performing patient assessments, airway management, CPR/AED use, transport, and careful record keeping in a compassionate, patient‑centered manner.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Vocational/Technical Degree preferred.
• Basic EMT certification in state of practice (required).
• Valid State Driver's License (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (required).
• EVOC training (required within 3 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls and performs patient assessments.
• Provides basic airway management.
• Provides CPR and use of AED.
• Transport and care for patients in pre‑hospital settings.
• Maintains reports and records and protects patient confidentiality.
