Job summary

Petco is seeking a Grooming Salon Leader to manage grooming salon operations and a talented team, delivering expert grooming services and an outstanding customer experience. You will lead with purpose, train entry to professional groomers, and uphold Petco’s safety and quality standards while driving salon performance.

You’ll oversee scheduling, inventory, and partner collaboration, ensuring staff development and adherence to breed standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience as a professional groomer and/or completion of a technical grooming program
• Strong leadership skills with 1–2 years of salon management experience preferred
• High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required
• Excellent verbal and written communication with pet parents and team members
• Expert knowledge of dog breeds, grooming requirements and health issues
• Advanced proficiency in breed-specific cuts and grooming standards

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day grooming salon operations, optimize scheduling and capacity
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise grooming staff; coach and evaluate performance
• Create efficient grooming schedules to maximize productivity and meet demand
• Monitor salon performance metrics and drive improvements to revenue and satisfaction
• Collaborate with store management to reach sales targets and salon objectives
• Provide exceptional customer service and grooming expertise to pet parents
• Perform professional grooming services to high standards and safety guidelines
• Maintain a clean, safe grooming area and sanitize tools and equipment
• Ensure compliance with Petco policies and grooming standards
