Job summary

Petco is seeking a Grooming Salon Leader to manage salon operations and lead grooming staff. You will deliver high-quality grooming services, coach team members, and ensure outstanding customer experiences for pet parents and their companions.

You will oversee schedules, drive salon performance, and stay current on grooming trends while upholding Petco standards and safety policies across a busy grooming center.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a professional groomer or completion of a grooming program
• 1-2 years of salon management experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Expert knowledge of dog breeds, grooming requirements and behaviors
• Expert-level proficiency in breed-specific cuts and grooming standards
• Genuine passion for animals and a career in grooming

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day grooming salon operations, optimize workflows and staffing
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise grooming staff with coaching and evaluations
• Create efficient grooming schedules to maximize productivity and meet demand
• Monitor salon performance metrics and develop improvement plans
• Collaborate with store management to drive salon sales and growth
• Provide exceptional customer service and grooming recommendations to pet parents
• Perform professional grooming services and maintain safety and quality standards
• Maintain grooming tools and equipment and ensure sanitation
