Job summary

Destination Pet is seeking a part-time groomer to join Dogaholics in Chicago. If you love dogs and have professional grooming experience, you’ll fit in with our animal-loving crew focused on quality care.

You’ll snip, trim, and style dogs to owner preferences while keeping clients informed and stations clean and safe. We offer flexible scheduling (Tuesdays–Thursdays), 50% commission (40% with a bather), discounts on services, and benefits for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Professional grooming experience is required.
• Must lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods; able to manage large dogs safely.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Snipping, shaping, and styling pets based on owner preferences or breed standards.
• Trimming nails, cleaning ears, brushing teeth, and tidying the tail end.
• Bathing dogs (or coordinating with bathers).
• Chatting with pet parents about grooming needs and coat care.
• Keeping station neat, tools sharp, and vibe fresh.
• Tag front desk when pups are ready for pickup.
• Providing a calm, safe experience for every animal in care.
• Representing Destination Pet's values of compassion, quality, and community.

What You Should Know

• Professional grooming experience is required.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and manage large or nervous dogs safely.
• Exposure to fur, cleaning chemicals, wet pups, ahem, "accidents" and unpredictable zoomies is guaranteed.
• Must be able to work in a physically active environment with heat, cold, water, and noise.

What You'll Be Doing (Besides Making Dogs Look Fur-bulous)

• Snipping, shaping, and styling pets based on owner preferences or breed standards.
• Trimming nails, cleaning ears, brushing teeth, and tidying up the tail end.
• Bathing dogs (or working with bathers to prep pets for grooming).
• Chatting with pet parents about grooming needs, coat care, and what's trending in tails.
• Keeping your station neat, your tools sharp, and your vibe fresh.
• Tagging in the front desk when pups are fluffed, puffed, and ready for pickup.
• Providing a calm, kind, safe experience for every animal in your care.
• Representing Destination Pet's values of compassion, quality, and community.

Part-time groomer position. Shifts Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
