Job summary

Destination Pet, LLC is seeking a part-time groomer to join a close-knit team in Chicago. You’ll groom dogs to breed standards, maintain a clean workstation, and engage with pet parents to discuss grooming needs and care tips.

Experience in grooming across breeds is required, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and manage large dogs safely. We offer a commission-based structure, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for professional growth within the Destination Pet network.

Responsibilities

• Snipping, shaping, and styling pets based on owner preferences or breed standards.
• Trimming nails, cleaning ears, brushing teeth, and tidying up the tail end.
• Bathing dogs (or working with bathers to prep pets for grooming).
• Chatting with pet parents about grooming needs and coat care.
• Keeping your station neat and tools sharp.
• Tagging in the front desk when pups are ready for pickup.
• Providing a calm, kind, safe experience for every animal in your care.
• Representing Destination Pet’s values of compassion, quality, and community.

Reporting To:General Manager What You Should Know:Professional grooming experience is required.Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and manage large or nervous dogs safely.Exposure to fur, cleaning chemicals, wet pups, ahem, “accidents” and unpredictable zoomies is guaranteed.Must be able to work in a physically active environment with heat, cold, water, and noise.
