Job summary

Whole Foods Market in California is seeking a Team Leader to assist the Store Team Leader in daily operations, profitability, and customer service. You will lead and develop Team Members, maintain store standards, and support national and regional programs while ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, merchandising expertise, and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• 18+ months retail Team Member experience.
• 6+ months of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains creative store layout and product merchandising.
• Works with Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
• Assists Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports and labor.
• Demonstrates advanced product knowledge and develops / maintains awareness of new products.
• Maintains vendor relationships and ensures paperwork for vendor processing.
• Works with Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues.
• Functions as point person and department in charge in Team Leader's absence.
• Sets and achieves high standards of retail execution.
• Fosters a positive environment of teamwork, respect, and morale.
• Maintains awareness of customer flows and directs Team Members to delight customers.
• Selects, trains, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members for high performance.
• Provides timely performance evaluations.
• Communicates and models company vision and goals.
