Job summary

Price Rite of Hamden is seeking a Store Manager to direct and develop store staff, protect assets, and maximize sales and gross profits. You will ensure compliance with sanitation, merchandising, payroll, and regulatory standards while maintaining a positive customer experience.

The role requires leadership over 100–150 team members, with responsibilities spanning operations, training, and performance management in a fast-paced retail grocery environment.

Qualifications

• The minimum 2+ years of related management experience are required.
• Associate degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and proportions.
• Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to follow policies and comply with laws and regulations.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift and move objects as required.

Responsibilities

• Manages, supervises and provides leadership to 100-150 team members in the store.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws.
• Maintains great store conditions per company standards, including sanitation and safety.
• Maximizes store sales and profits.
• Develops and maintains a team concept and improves morale and communication.
• Manages recruitment, development, training and counseling of all employees.
• Establishes working relationships with staff, vendors and Wakefern staff.
