Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies seeks an enthusiastic Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to create an outstanding customer experience at our Northville store. You will bag groceries at checkout, assist customers, and maintain a safe, clean environment that invites guests to return.

You will learn store layouts, help restock shelves, inform customers of specials, and support cashiers with price checks. The role emphasizes honesty, teamwork, safety, and a welcoming atmosphere, with access to Kroger

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Strive for at least five items in the bag while ensuring contents are not damaged.
• Follow best practices for bagging items in various bag types (reusable/plastic/paper).
• Assist in removing customer's merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help customers with loading bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills, collect and pick up trash inside store and parking lot.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued.
