Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced store environment. You will bag groceries at checkout, assist customers with loading bags into their car, restock shelves, and help keep the store clean and safe.

Ideal candidates will follow bagging best practices, inform customers of specials, and uphold the company values of respect and integrity while working as part of a diverse team in Ann Arbor.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is not required but can be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Strive to bag at least five items per bag and avoid damage.
• Follow best practices for bagging in reusable/plastic/paper bags.
• Assist in removing customer merchandise from bascarts for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking.
• Inform customers of grocery specials and price checks.
• Restock shelves and return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills and trash in store and parking lot.
• Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand store layout and locate products, conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and report needs for repair.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued.
