Job summary

Erewhon Market in Santa Monica is seeking an experienced Grocery/Inventory professional to join our team. You will manage department inventories, analyze weekly sales, and coordinate with the Store Manager on staffing and performance.

Responsibilities include merchandising, accurate ordering to minimize shrink, supervising staff, and maintaining high standards of customer service and store cleanliness. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Grocery/ Produce or Inventory management.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferable, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Manage department inventories by tracking weekly sales reports and ordering products to meet demand and profit goals.
• Collaborate with Store Manager on hiring, evaluation and supervision of department staff.
• Develop and implement localized merchandising plans and set up displays for new and seasonal items.
• Ensure timely ordering to prevent losses from spoilage.
• Schedule department employees and oversee training and performance.
• Control expenses by improving operations, reducing shrinkage and pilferage.
• Keep updated on holiday needs and trends in consumer goods.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries and complaints; lead by example.
• Follow procedures for receiving merchandise, pricing and restocking with rotation to ensure freshness.
• Maintain an effective housekeeping program.
• Other duties as assigned by Store Director.
