Job summary

Spangler's Market in California seeks an experienced Assistant General Manager to support store operations and lead a positive team culture. The role reports to Ownership/GM and is exempt, with a salary range of $70,304 to $80,000 plus potential bonuses.

You will partner with the GM and HR to optimize staffing, payroll, and vendor relations, while ensuring exceptional customer service. Essential duties include overseeing daily operations, inventory, recruiting, training, and process improvements

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in grocery preferred, other retail considered.
• A least 2 years of supervisory/management experience.
• Experience buying perishable foods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drives revenue growth and cost control with GM, and builds vendor partnerships.
• Oversees payroll data and timecard processes with HR collaboration.
• Manages recruitment, interviews, and staffing with HR team.
• Supports POS implementation and maintains database integrity.
