Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking a capable Grocery Department Manager to oversee all grocery operations and maintain high standards of service and efficiency. The role involves scheduling staff, coaching, and ensuring product availability and display quality across the department.

In this position you will drive merchandising plans, support onboarding and LMS training, and collaborate with store management to meet sales and profit objectives while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience completed or working towards a high school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor's degree in business desirable.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in management of retail/supermarket environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all aspects of Grocery department operations and may assume total store operations in absence of store management.
• Promotes excellent customer relations by ensuring friendly, helpful service and resolving customer concerns promptly.
• Manages inventory levels and orders, ensures product availability and proper backroom/storage organization.
• Schedules Grocery associates, conducts coaching, provides feedback, and delegates work to optimize talent utilization.
• Assists with onboarding, performance reviews, LMS training, merchandising plans, and cross-department communication.
• Maintains sanitation, safety, and 5S in the department; adheres to health and OSHA requirements and proper PPE usage.
