Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring for a store associate in Stevens Point, WI. You will deliver outstanding customer service, help maintain a clean, safe store, and assist in achieving department goals.

Responsibilities include answering product questions, stocking shelves, promoting specials, and ensuring product freshness. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to store policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered.
• Recommend grocery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
