Job summary

Kroger is seeking a capable Grocery Department Supervisor in Dillon, CO to assist the Department Manager with planning, staffing, training and directing department associates. The role emphasizes operational excellence, customer service, and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities include supervising daily tasks, managing CAO orders, merchandising, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards. A strong focus on communication and teamwork is essential for success in this role.

• Understanding of all key components of department operations (i.e. Managing people, merchandising, computer assisted ordering, inventory management, shrink control, customer services, labor scheduling, expense control, etc.)
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, etc.
• Qualified and able to operate power machinery and work with various job tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Department Manager in organizing work, staffing needs, and training and scheduling associates to provide prompt, courteous service.
• Respond to customer or associate comments, complaints, requests, accidents and questions professionally.
• Use CAO to manage ordering quantities and track product receipts and balance on hand in the Department Manager’s absence.
• Price and display merchandise; maintain signage, rotation, freshness, quantity, quality and space allocation.
• Engage and counsel associates in merchandising techniques, customer service, product presentation and promotions.
• Ensure compliance with company programs and policies, including dress code, grooming, sanitation and a harassment-free environment.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results to the Department Manager.
• Communicate with associates and customers to leave a positive impression.
• Maintain equipment, facilities and housekeeping to company standards.
• Maintain clean floor, shelves and grocery areas to sanitary standards.
• Promote and implement company initiatives and process improvements with direct reports.
