Job summary

Kroger’s Franklin, TN location offers a 4–12 week management training program to prepare you for a department manager role. You will travel within the division to train and provide relief while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining safety standards.

Lead duties include scheduling, promotions, pricing, and inventory control to meet department goals. The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to laws and company guidelines, and development of associates while embodying Kroger's core

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Ability to stay composed and effective under pressure.
• Basic math skills for daily operations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
• Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, company guidelines, and food safety regulations.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
• Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
• Inform and educate department associates about current and upcoming promotions.
• Maintain inventory awareness and manage stocking conditions.
• Plan and supervise pricing updates and promotional signage.
• Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process; monitor expenses.
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and CAO.
• Ensure proper temperatures and safety logs are maintained; report safety risks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and report items in need of repair.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; complete performance reviews.
