Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) seeks a department manager to lead grocery operations, supervise teammates, and safeguard product quality and display standards. You will oversee staffing, training, and day-to-day activities to meet sales goals and maintain regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include inventory control, forecasting sales from promotions, and ensuring safety and customer service excellence in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years related experience.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Manager Food Safety certification required.
• AML certification and HIPAA certifications may be required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing, hiring, training and developing partners; planning, assigning and directing work.
• Review historical data to predict future sales from ads and promotions.
• Manage inventory to ensure in-stock levels.
• Review profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data; report to upper management on related issues.
• Maintain and improve sales performance, financial results, public relations, product quality, and work standards.
• Inspect product for quality control and food safety standards.
• Ensure product is within date and rotated accordingly.
• Promote product sales through suggestive selling and appealing displays.
• Ensure stock conditions on grocery racks and shelves.
• Open/close the store and ensure adequate staff; uphold safety and fiscal controls.
