Job summary

ShopRite of West Milford is seeking a Grocery Manager to lead the Grocery Department, oversee Associates, and drive sales, customer experience, and department efficiency under the direction of the General Store Manager.

You will ensure safety, training, and procedures while maintaining shelves, pricing, and inventory accuracy, and you will engage Associates to achieve department goals and uphold ShopRite service priorities.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to perform basic computer functions.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs., up to 60 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products and spices.
• Ability to tolerate varying temperatures and dust/cleaning agents.
• Ability to climb a ladder to access overhead storage.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to lead and engage associates to achieve department goals.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all functions of the Grocery Department.
• Achieve department goals in sales, profit, and customer experience.
• Ensure safety, training, and compliance with company policies.
• Maintain proper stocking, pricing, and merchandise presentation.
• Hire, onboard, and train new department associates.
• Monitor inventory and assist with scheduling to maintain staffing.
• Lead by example to provide a positive customer experience.
• Uphold service priorities: safety, friendliness, presentation, efficiency.
