Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist the Department Manager in organizing work, staffing, training and scheduling associates to provide prompt, courteous service.
• Respond to customer and associate comments, complaints, requests, accidents and questions with professionalism.
• Use CAO to manage merchandise orders and track receipts and inventory in the manager's absence.
• Price and display merchandise; maintain signage, rotation, freshness and space allocation.
• Promote effective merchandising techniques and participate in promotional activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies on dress, grooming, sanitation and harassment prevention.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results.
• Communicate with associates and customers to create a positive impression.
• Maintain equipment and facilities safely and according to policies.
• Keep floor and grocery areas clean and up to sanitary standards.
• Assist in implementing company initiatives and process improvements.
• Demonstrate ability to manage people and workloads.
• Perform all duties as assigned.
