Responsibilities

• Exhibit and develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
• Promote a high level of morale within department and store, using honest communication.
• Maintain good relations with other department managers to improve storewide sales.
• Comply with all company policies and the Code of Conduct.
• Provide professional examples for other store team members to follow.
• Assist in planning, organizing, and directing Grocery Department activities.
• Know and cost out all material to determine proper retails.
• Aid in development and growth of department personnel through training and counseling.
• Teach fundamentals of grocery production: stocking, facing, stacking, unloading, organizing, finishing.
• Plan aggressive merchandising programs to increase sales and cross-merchandising with other departments.
• Help maintain control of department labor and inventory per budgets and guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining department security per company policy.
• Keep aware of competitive activity for the Grocery Department in store area.
• Conduct receiving, storing, pricing and merchandising of all grocery products.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of products and service.
• Maintain adequate department records at all times.
